Alfred Wegener - Origin of the Continents and Oceans ALFRED WEGENER
(1880-1930), Was born Born on November 1, 1880, Wegener made what was to be his last expedition to Greenland in 1930. where he died, a day or two after his fiftieth birthday.

The Origins of Continents and Oceans. Wegener's ideas were very controversial because he didn't have an explanation for why the continents moved, just that there was observational evidence that they had.
